The way we live and what is happening has influenced the color trends. Last year the Pantone 2010 color of the year was Turquoise. This served as an escape for many . The new Pantone 2011 color of the year is Honeysuckle which emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor.
Honeysuckle is an intense reddish pink color can lift our spirits and bring our thoughts to spring and summer. This color, and not the sweet fragrance of the flower blossoms for which it was named, is what attracts hummingbirds to nectar.
The resurgence of Honeysuckle also brings focus to other shades of pink which are very popular this year. These include pale and softer shades of pink which can make a room feminine, romantic and charming.
Other color trends include teal, grey (from light to dark), citrine, orange and neutrals infused with color. Using neutrals in your home environment add a lively flair with bright color and patterns in pillows, bedspreads and table top accessories.
And always remember…any color is always in style as long as it is used well.
