Diamond Lake, MN Homes for Sale

Welcome to the Diamond Lake Neighborhood

Diamond Lake is the southernmost neighborhood in Minneapolis, but that doesn’t mean it’s too far out to enjoy everything the city has to offer. In fact, it’s in a fantastic location as it lies between I-35 and Cedar Avenue to the west and east and East Diamond Lake Road and 62nd Street to the north and south. Like bordering neighborhoods, Hale, Page, and Windom, Diamond Lake is primarily residential with just over 2,000 households, though there are plenty of local restaurants, neighborhood groceries, and churches that add to the community vibe. Diamond Lake is a bit newer than many of the surrounding neighborhoods, and many of the homes were built between 1935 and 1955, and the architecture reflects this. Bungalows, art deco, and mid-century modern style homes with mature trees, hardwood floors, and big windows are the norm.

Diamond Lake Amenities & Recreation

If you love to spend a day at the lake, go for a jog around the park, or have a picnic with your family, you don’t have to go far to enjoy outdoor activities in Diamond Lake.

Outdoor Recreation

Diamond Lake stretches across much of the west side of the neighborhood, creating an 81-acre wildlife ecosystem that’s great for shady nature walks and fishing. Beside the lake, Todd Park is a great neighborhood park that has a playground, tennis courts and sporting fields, and plenty of green space that is a popular site for local festivals.

Just outside of Diamond Lake is Lake Nokomis, a massive lake that offers sailing, fishing, and a beach area for swimming. Plus, there are boat rentals, walking paths, tennis and basketball courts, and sport fields. It’s a lovely spot, whether you want to spend the day or just take your dog for a walk.
